Plan Options

The B.A.R is the only multi-sport adventure race in the Boyne Valley in Co. Meath, starting directly at the magnificent back drop of Trim Castle. You get to run around the beautiful Porch Fields, Kayak along the River Boyne, scramble through a quarry located at a country residence and cycle around the beautiful scenary of County Meath.

We’ve teamed up with Bernard Smyth from Ultimate Conditioning to design a race specific plan for YOU!   Bernard, a qualified personal trainer, rugby couch and strength & conditioning coach, has a wealth of experience when it comes to adventure race training.  His ability shines out in the adventure racing field completing many races and being placed in a number of them also, including our 2017 inaugural Boyne Adventure Race ( Mens 3rd ).

Your online race specific plan will include your running, cycling and kayak training to get you in the best shape for the race, you will also get access to a private training forum where we will be posting videos with training tips, race tips and how best to prepare for the race, course previews and how to take on that quarry scramble, we will also be including nutritional tips and you can also post about your training sessions and your progress.  As part of your training plan we will be incorporating a “Mid Point training group session” where we will also focus on transitioning from running to biking to get you fully race ready.

The Boyne Adventure Race, brought to you by Trim Tourism Network – a non profit organisation, is managed by a volunteers and ran as a non profit event.  The costs associated with running the race are covered by registrations, plans and sponsorships.
