Kiltale Farm self catering Holiday Homes are a unique and tranquil venue for Artists set in the heart of the Boyne Valley in County Meath the Heritage Capital of Ireland. It is a truly amazing area with its many tourist attractions. We welcome Tutors with their own Groups and we and our staff will assist with the organisation of the course. The atmosphere is informal and relaxed with a wide variety of subject mater from Heritage to Thatched Cottages to many interesting farm scenes. There is a wide range of nice restaurants in the heritage town of Trim only 4 miles from the Kiltale holiday homes.
During the month of July and August, english lessons are taught by a qualified teacher to children age 4 to 13 who come to the farm for a holiday. This is done in a fun way by playing, talking, and participating in various games. The children are taken for class from 10.00 to 1.00 daily. Many children take part in the class for the first week of their stay and join the farm summer camp for the second week, this gives them an opportunity to meet, mix and play with Irish children and practice their english. The unique thing about learning english at Kiltale Farm is that the children don’t look on it as work or school, as they are enjoying every moment through the media of play.
Enrolments for the season are now been taken.
Here at Kiltale farm we have 2 donkeys named Neddy and Freddy, 2 goats named Emma and Kate, ducks, geese, hens, lambs, baby chicks ,ducklings and cattle. While on holidays you may be able to bottle feed the pet lambs or kid goats or cuddle the ducklings, feed the hens, ducks and of course pet and ride our Connemara Pony Sally Jane. You can also play in our fully equipped playground, on Swings, see-saws, and trampolines or stay inside and have fun and games in our playhouse. Hours of fun for young and old.
At Kiltale farm they can meet a range of animals and try their hands at some old-fashioned animal husbandry – milk the goats, feed the lambs, even ride the donkeys and ponies. A well-equipped playground and playhouse provide hours of entertainment and for the lucky few we operate a Farm Camp in July that our younger visitors are welcome to join.
The Kiltale area is our home an we want you to feel that for however long we are fortunate enough to share your company, you will feel that is a home from home for you also. Our family has a great love of our native language Gaeilge, and perhaps before you leave, you can acquire a few words to smooth the passage on your next visit.
